CDC Origins in Coastal Georgia

A Colorado woman came into the shop today she told me the CDC has origins in Savannah (where she was born) which I did not know. While her father, an entomologist, was in Savannah he worked  to kill disease carrying mosquitoes. This work resulted in the widespread use DDT.
